Replaced Camshaft Positioning Sensor, Camshaft Syncronizer, Plugs, Wires, and all Intake Gaskets, and Valve Cover Gaskets. And I had to sort of rig something, not sure what its called. Has a set of 2 coolant lines that run together with a vacuum operated valve between them.

Still, anyone know what the ticking sound is?

Trevor,
I had a "ticking" sound once on my Spitfire that ended up being a cracked weld on one of my header tubes. Since you mentioned you had removed one of the exhaust manifolds, I thought I should mention this. You may have a small gasket leak, or it may have not seated against the head correctly. It's also possible that in the work you did a crack developed somewhere.

Will it make the sound while you are not moving if you rev up the engine? Or does it only do it when the truck is moving?

It's only when im moving, and accelerating. If I accelerate in park it doesn't make the sound. The truck seems to be running great, it's just odd that this sound started happening now.

Jaws - Wouldn't he hear a lifter while not moving? Maybe it would get louder under load, but I'd think you could hear a faint tick if there was a problem.

Trevor - sounds like it's time to get some listening aids. Sometimes a 2 or 3 foot length of stiff garden hose works. You can also use a similar length of pipe or even a piece of broom handle or the like. Just hold one end against your ear, and move the other end around the engine until you can focus on the point from which the noise is emanating. Of course, you can't do this while the truck is moving. That makes this a difficult task.

I'd start at all the points on the exhaust system I could get to under the hood. Then valve covers (front to back, back to front, all over the sides, etc.) Then accessory drive points - alternator mounts and bearings, AC compressor mounts and bearings, etc. Just keep moving around until you can hear the noise.

You can buy a mechanics stethoscope at most parts stores, but this is about the only situation where I like using cheap tools.

If you can't hear anything like the noise while the truck is standing still and the motor is revving up and down, then you have to start looking at driveline issues - U-Joints, etc.

The tick under load is a lot more noticeable though, it could be a very minor one so at idle it's not loud enough to be heard

I didn't realize ya'll responded, O.o .

I found out I can hear the ticking in Park / Neutral, but I have to rev the engine, and I am really not comfortable getting the rpm's so high while not in gear. The sound isn't coming from outside so it seems at this point, I really am at a loss. But it annoys the piss out of me! I'd like to figure it out lol.

On another note, how is everyone?

Oh and, check this out:
