you know it's always nice when people jump all over other people for not having the "best of best" and never asking what they can afford to buy for there trucks or do to there trucks (referring to the 3.0 thread)

I agree...
I had a 95 2.3l 2wd 5speed reg cab all thru highschool and college. ..it sucked driving in the snowy Minnesota winters but I loved driving it in the summers.
I traded it for my 3.0 ext cab 4x4....and was extremely happy with the upgrade.....I have no need for a 4.0...my truck has towed my 2 atvs, motorcycle, and boat without any issuses for the past 8 yrs....
I just wish it was a 5 speed...I miss driving a stick!

If I had done some research when I was looking to upgrade..I might have looked for a 4.0...but I didnt....I just wanted a bigger truck ext cab and 4x4..and I got a great price on it.
Heres the kicker. ..do the math.
1995 2wd reg cab 2.3l for $6500 bought in Texas in 2001 (6 yrs old ith 80kmiles)
1999 4x4 ext cab 3.0 for $6995 ($500 more) bought in Minnesota in 2005 (6 yrs old with 118k)

So I paid only $500 more for my 4x4 ...of course I got $2500 trade in for the 2wd ranger.
I think it was a good upgrade.

People always "want" a bigger engine, they dont always "need" it.....

You know Glenn you inspired me today I had to become a contributor not a lot of people from mn and this forum has me out of a lot of problems

I dont know much about the 2.5ls but i can work and wrench on anything.
From body lifts to brakes to tune ups....

Oh and what size rims and tires do u have? 14s??? I have a set of 15s for sale if u wanna go bigger..lol

The one thing about the rangers that are easy to work on I have owned 3 and they are easy to fix

Don't worry Glenn (and now Gerald)- you're not the only MN contributors. Been a proud contributor for... since I bought my truck 2 years ago(?)

Have the 2 stickers on the top back of my cab. Being a contributor is worth the awesome feeling of having a web address on the back of your truck.

ps- darn I forgot to wash my truck at the BP today
