Well lets get it all figured out. answer these

1) Is it RPM dependent?
2) Is it temperature dependent?
3) Is it gear dependent?
4) Is it speed dependent?
6) Is it load dependent?
7) Is it electrically dependent?
8) Is it caused after or during turning?
9) Is it caused by a fan or fans kicking on?
10) Is it caused by a pump or pumps kicking on?
11) Do you notice any loss of power sense hearing this tick?

Ticks are no good they could be a belt tick or a valve tick... Get it fixed now man, troubleshoot the whole engine and you should figure it out.

If it is your timing belt that is a serious part. That connects your cam and crank which is pretty much your spine and brain of your engine so it would be the spinal cord(I ain't no fancy pancy docter but I hit a deer once and the head popped off...)

First thing you could do is check your oil though. Some ticks are cause by a low oil level. It sounded like it was coming from the middle towards the back right? About a quarter way in or so?

1) Is it RPM dependent? The higher the RPM, the faster tick
2) Is it temperature dependent? No
The rest, Idk. Can't really drive my truck ATM cause it overheats.
It sounds like the driver side. When I get under the truck I can hear it pretty darn good.

Well... worst case you're looking at a valve tick tock which means you'll need a valve seat job which I kind of doubt but being as how you can not drive it we can not rule it out. When you bring it in tomorrow get the codes pulled and a pressure test if you can. RPM dependent ticks usually mean a gasket or valve, a lifter, or a piston knock.

How does it run when it does run? White smoke? Rough idle? Running really rich? Could be a injector. Try switching injectors 5 and 6 to 1 and 2 and tell me if it still does it.

Its had a misfire on cylinder 4 for quite a while. I have a new injector for it, just never got around to putting it in. Also throws a DPFE Sensor code.

So if you're really throwing a misfire on 4 I'm going to go ahead and say that you're in the club. You more than likely need to have your valves re-seated. The wet portion of the pressure test will tell you if it is in fact a valve problem but I know which knock you're talking about. Sorry to say beau but a valve jobs not cheap if it is in fact a valve. Maybe you are just having EGR problems, with that DPFE code I could see that. I don't know what tick would come from your EGR as its just gas re-circulation but you never know. Hope it turns out to be a leaf stuck in your fan man really do.

I'm talking to my dad right now and told him what it might be.
He's wondering about how much it would be to have the valves reseated?

Call your machine shops depends if you tear it apart yourself. if they have to tear it out re seat it you may be looking at 300-500 dollars... If you tear it apart you could get your cylinders honed, heads seats, head cleaned, and crank machined for around 400. just for a re seat if you tear it apart maybe 100 bucks depending on where you go. My guy would only charge me like 40 if I tore it apart.

P.S Machine shops usually have lower hourly rates than normal "mechanics". You wont need a machine shop to re seat them but it may be a cheaper option. Look for a automotive machine shop that usually means they rebuild engines.

Well 500 ain't that bad. I thought you were going to say about 2000 or something Lol.
But its still an unwanted repair.
with having almost 182,000 miles though its almost worth just putting 5.0 in.
233 for water pump. About 500 for possible valve reseat. That's already 733.
Could it be a possible cracked or warped head?

LOL 5.0 conversion you'll be looking at around 4 grand for a decent one.
