That's a good question and to be honest I DONT F____ING KNOW!!!

I've been working 14 HR+ days the past week so I have had a lot of thinking time but little research time. I've come down to really my only 2 options for the Ranger.

Rebuild the 180 that's in it and mod the rest of the truck to be a light weight daily driver.

Or... I was pricing out diesels again. They're my dirty closet love rag I can't wash and I don't know why. I was looking at a cummins 4BT (from cummins not dodge because Dodge = Drips Oil & Drops Grease Everywhere ) then that ended up to be around $4,000 for everything I would need....

So it looks like it's getting torn apart here sooner or later, or I'll just save up. In all honesty the Ranger is on the back burner. I feel bad but I don't have time for her and probably wont for a long time. So as sad as I am to say I'm going to be buying a DD. Some cheap Geo for now and maybe work will slow down. But the ranger will be a nice fucking truck here in a couple years LOL!!!

How's you're engine rebuild(s)? Are you're wheelers both up and running well? Hopefully you got that nice little bang out and it came out just like new. That has to suck with the bed liner, did insurance cover re-bedlining it? I do have a garage to do your powerdome in. My mentor who runs the second shop I work at does shit a little cheaper than Al so if you do decide to do that this spring give me a jingle. My new number is 320-428-5773. If you need help dropping that engine into the white ranger maybe I can take a weekend off from work.

P.S Beau if you can't get the mounting bracket they're easy enough to mod up. All you really need is a piece of scrap metal a cut off wheel and something to bend it with.

I can get the bracket, its only a 30 minute drive there, 30 back. Drove my brother Ford Thunderbird so I hardly burned any gas at all. Cause my truck is parked until overheating problem is fixed

Overheating problem...is it the thermostat?

Josh, the Raptor is torn apart...in the middle of replacing the clutch.
The white ranger wont get touched til this spring when i get my taxes back.
Im going to replace the water pump and other stuff in the engine before i drop it into the truck.
What else should i look at replacing before i put it in?
The white ranger will get hit hard this spring when the snow melts...i want to have it ready for next winter...so this will be my last winter driving the red baby..it will get stored in the winter..

My red truck goes into the shop on monday....hes also painting my powerdome for me...no charge!!

Nope, not the thermostat. I have a thread on it, trying to get help.
I've replaced thermostat, radiator cap, all coolant. Unclogged the reservoir to radiator hose. Still overheating. Next thing is water pump.

Yep waterpump...good luck replacing that!! PITA

Thats the Forrest Gump syndrome...it will be so much work and a pain to do, you might as well pull the engine out to do it...but while you have the engine out you might as well put in a 5.0..
And it keeps going and going.

Hello I'm from Michigan and I just changed my cluster lights on my 03 fx4 level II ranger and now The emergency flashers don't work. The turn signals do but not the hazard signals. Any idea what happen or how I can fix that? Thanks

Lol..where have u been?? Labor is always the expensive part!!.
In my old 95 ranger...i took it in for new sparkplugs and a tune up and when i got it back the heater didnt work.
They said the blend door was broken and stuck in the closed position..they wanted $10 for the new door, but $50 an hour and 10hrs to tear apart the dash to replace it...$500 in labor to replace a $10 plastic part.
I bitched and cussed the manager out...told him the heater was working and on when i brought it in..so if it broke it should be in the open position.
I told him i would buy the $10 door and replace it myself and if i got my dash all torn apart and found out it wasnt the door and they lied...i would be suing them!
Anyway he said he would have a mechanic take another look at it..i said fine but im ginf to be there to watch him. The mechanic found the problem, that blend door is controlled by a vac line...he said the line had melted...big BS...it had been cut!! I know the difference between a melted rubber hose and a cut rubber hose!
Again i went back in and bitched out the manager...trying to hustle a highschool 17yrold out of alot of money...
And that is why i dont go to dealerships anymore!!

Wow. I would freak the fuck out, until I couldn't breath, if they cut it. That's so messed up.
Mechanics are always trying to rip people off... not all, but there are a bunch out there.

Im 99.99% sure they cut it.
A cut is way different than a melt!! It doesnt take a rocket scientist to know that!

I figure their plan was to cut the vac line...have the kid (me) pay $500 for them to tear apart the dash and fic it...but all they would really do is splice in a new line and be done...and take my cash to the bank...but it backfired on them...they got caught and bitched slapped.

The bad thing is my dad goes to them all the time! Recently after taking the dodge durango in for a new dtarter, hes been having tranny shifting issues...strange it just started after they put in a new starter.
He took it back to them and they said the tranny needs rebuilding or to be replaced.
Its a 99 with only 95k miles on it.
I told my dad its probably a speed sensor gone bad and its not shifting when it should..
A new sensor is like $100...but nope he trusts those guys and is forking up $1900 for a tranny rebuild!!

Needs a little TLC and the arm rest had a hole. What could I use to redo it?

Glen that's a sweet deal to get it painted free!!! You should try and back track all the wiring before you put it in it's easier to fix a shitty wire now than when you have to take it all apart. You could clean the snot out of it. If you had a chance of letting anything into your engines intake manifold while it is sitting there I would clean the snot out of it before you blow icky stuff through your engine and cause an owie. Treat it right and clean everything. You could put a gauge cluster on it if you're going to be using it to plow. Tranny, oil, and water temp gauge cluster. Did you ever figure out the rich or lean run on your raptor and get all the hoses figure out?

Vinyl bro. All you need is adhesive and a staple gun. Joanne fabrics has everything cheap enough that it shouldn't cost more than 30 bucks.

I've been looking for an explorer to swap, but they're either too expensive, too many miles, or 4.0s. WHYYY
My ranger is definitely ready for a new engine though, Petunia almost has 182,000 miles and a rough idle, and lately, overheat issues.
