It's like my white 98 project truck, no sense in buying accessories for it until i get the running engine put in and the truck is drive-able...
The only thing i have bought for it so far was a new driver side door..
Well the engine is getting driven until it dies but without fully diagnosing it and having no error codes come up on a scan its hard to say when that'll be. I'm buying the engine in November just in case it goes out I won't have to drive a company vehicle for a week while it ships and gets put in. I'm waiting it out with the box and next spring I'll do a paint job on the cab.

Bought my first Ranger from a buddy for $740. A '94 5 speed 4x4 with the 4.0L V6, around 120,000 miles. He had a shop replace the clutch because he couldn't figure out what was wrong with the truck, it wouldn't engage any gears. New clutch, same issues. So it sat for a year until I bought it. Buddy and me dropped the tranny and found the gears were shredded inside. Just ordered a rebuilt tranny off ebay for $700, should be in next week. Already put a new battery and fluids in it. Needs new leaf springs though, that'll probably wait. Anyone have any recommendations on springs? 3/1 or 4/1? Also would you guys recommend replacing the u-bolts to the pumpkin?

Can't wait to get the truck rolling! Tired of watching it sit. I'm in Hutchinson for a couple months til I graduate, then off to Washington state.

OK guys so I'm going to do this instead of putting a new bed on. Ideas, criticism, or tips are appreciated before I start the build. Any ideas in how thick of steel to use?

A bed cage??? lol...
Use at least 2 or 2.5 or 3" round tubing, maybe 3/16 to 1/8 thick....
Do you weld??
That will be one hell of a project..

Tempted by that engine hoist Glenn....but I have so many balls in the air right now financially that I don't know if I can buy it.

Trying to buy my brother's KLR650 to turn into my go-everywhere touring/off-road bike.

I was looking at 12 gauge with 16 gauge as the base. I have access to 3 professional grade welders we have a tig and an arc and my buddy has a tig as well. My buddy welds diesel tanks for a living and Ray at our shop welds A LOT. So I figure it shouldn't be to difficult just a matter of measuring and getting the pipes cut. We just spent $74 at the shop for a 77" piece of 12 gauge so I'm not excited to see the costs. It should be about the same as a new box but should lighten the ranger and look cool. Have to figure out how to do the tail lights and all that and the gas stuff.

Anyone looking for a brush/grille guard for a ranger??
I have one for sale..its a Westin brand,it was all black but needed repainting, and i sanded it down for repainting just never painted it.....needs mounts tho..
Asking $200 or best offer...i need the cash..lol.

I also have a matching chrome one too but i dont want to sell that....if i did it would be $250...and also needs mounts to mount it to the truck.

I am eventually going to go with a full custom steel bumper with built in guard, hitch receiver, winch mount, on my Red ranger, but want to keep one of these for my white ranger, preferrably the chrome one...but i really dont care...i would just bedline the black one anyway and put it onto my white ranger..
