Have fun We have a house down on Lake Barkley. Love that place.
I'm sure we will have more than just the one meet. Hell, there is a good chance that we will get together and go play probably 2 or more times a month.

Well, how about meeting at 11 so that gives everyone the time to get there and then go grab lunch and go from there?

I am down assuming I am not working then. I say the later the better though honestly. Around these parts if you wanna do some playing you defiantly wanna do it on a weekend, and later in the day. This is Kentucky and Indiana here, and I know a few people in this area who shoot at trespassers lol. Mostly happens down towards Eastern Kentucky, but its always better to play on the weekend and defiantly later in the day.

We had a great time playing about. I'd defiantly like to meet up again with Mark, and hit the dirt again, and maybe get some tips on my truck. I know he mentioned hearing my truck having what sounded like ball joints going out. I defiantly wish I knew for sure what it was, so I could replace that part.

As for going in deep mud. I've made it through stuff that guys in trucks with 44's got stuck in. Best rule in thumb here is to remember A) wet soft mud conforms so whatever is a deep rut, can easily become your own little play ground, and can easily be dug out of. What we did was nice, but defiantly not the best mudding in the world, but I'd prefer not to get stuck unless we have more around. Trail riding is fun... Defiantly going to do this again!

Yeah, after our run, I mashed all the grease out of my DS lower balljoint, and after hearing that again, your's isn't a balljoint. My rig is creaking and grinding all over the place. Back on the lift, blast it with grease, blah blah blah.

Really if we come across areas that are real rutted up, I dont have a problem taking a shovel and smoothing it out. Gonna do that to a hill I wanna climb probably next week, wait for a little bit of rain to soften things up a bit first.

Our last little foray was fun, got a little bit muddy, but nothing scary enough to run off the uninitiated. there was one little bounce that had me a bit worried, but I knew she'd pull me through, just a little bumpy..

I guess what we need to do is scout out some decent dirt roads or maybe make a run up to Lincoln state park or something and run the fire roads up there?

Anyway, as far as off-roading is concerned, I'm game for whatever, but with the layoff coming Friday, I will have to be a bit more careful with her, at least til things become a little more calm on the job front.

Another thought to add, if any of you guys ever need help working on your truck, give me a yell. I may not know everything about these trucks, or have every tool we will need, but Im strong and handy. I'd like to put on a body lift and see how they look in person, because if they look good, I want one.

Hell yeah. We had lots of fun. I am defiantly game for another run. The fire roads would be fun... I kind of feel ya with tearing stuff up, and I've got a job. I don't think none of us wanna get so rough we tear a ranger up, I mean they are really really hard to tear up anyway. I've beat myself up in the cab before, and the ranger just kept on ticking. That stuff we was doing that day, my buddy said he wouldn't take his 04 Silverado through it, and its a Z71. I wish mine had 4:10 gears in it, sadly I only got 3.73's with a LSD. Did you crank your T-Bar yourself?

Yeah. Just get underneath her with a 1/2" socket wrench and a cheater pipe and start cranking. I just tweaked mine a bit, tried to level it out, but I am gonna crank em a bit more when I go get my next alignment.
He was really worried about it? Why? The deepest hole we hit was what, maybe 6~8" deep. No problems

It took 5 and a half full turns on mine to level it and its much easier if you jack the truck up then crank em.

Also, if you decide you want a body lift, we could have a lift meet and get it installed.

He drives a chebby can't expect much. Like I said that hill we climbed, my dad has a 1-2inch lift plus over sized tires and he got high centered the first time going up it. When I went up it nothing on my ranger drug the ground. Chevrolet just sits lower, and are easier to tear up. That is a fact.

I tell you one thing that made me cringe a bit, and that was the sound of trees scraping my paint. I defiantly would like you to help me put some HELLA's on like you've got, and help me wire up a OHC if you don't mind. I am afraid of cutting into any wires because I am no good at that type of stuff, so it'd be a job you might do and I just stand back and watch.

Same goes for cranking my Torsion bars. Anyway trucks in the shop now. Be glad to get that noisy wheel bearing fixed, and rid of that pesky ABS light that pops on and off. Hes going to also look at that darn crunching sound my front end makes when hitting a bump. My guess is its a lower control arm bushing or sway bar bushings.

I considered just taking the sway bars off but I wanna keep them up there, don't need to lean anymore then I already with this truck haha.

The mechanic is also looking into the vibration in the rear end. If it turns out to be the bearings in the axles It'll have to wait, especially since he doesn't do that kind of work. Hope that its just a U-Joint going out.

One day I need to do a tranny fluid and filter change, and possibly a differential fluid drain, and change... Probably will just take that to a shop one day and have all that done to it.
