I recently got in an accident and my hole front clip its don't but no frame damage as far as I know. But I can get a hole front clip from a 2001 ranger and mines a 1990 I was wondering if I could actually do that or if its wouldn't even be worth the time? Please help.

I have a 1990 ford ranger XLT with a 2.9L idk what size transmission I know its stock. Bit have been taking a while to shift into first gear. And now if I put it into over drive it don't move and makes a winding noise I think it could be a clutch going out but I wanted to know if there was anything else I could do before I rebuild the transmission. Please help.
