I have had an issue with the coil pack power plug since installing an after-market tach signal wire to one of the plug wires so I have removed the tach wire and rewired the plug. I don't feel comfortable re-attaching the tach signal wire at the same place. Does anyone have a good suggestion where I should attach the tach signal wire for a representative reading? Where I had it only gave a partial reading....something like half deflection of what it should be; so I need to know if anyone can tell me where to attach the signal wire to get a good tach reading. Wilson, 98, 99 amd 2000 rangers have a vss/abs on top of the differential. This sensor feeds the pcm for info. they can cause issues with shifting, an erratic abs light, an erratic speedo, clicking noises from under the dash. the part cost $20 at AZ. it is held in with 1 bolt at the top of the diff, there is a wire going to it. it pops right out it has an oring on it. clean the area off well before installing it has to sit perfectly flat. you should check your difff fluid while you are there mine was down a quart. the filler plug is right even with the drivshaft
