so i was in a accident right side panel its bad but when truck goes into gear a pounding noise occurs and truck does not move any ideas as to whta is cause

Hi i am a proud owner of a ford ranger 2001 edge model and have just been in a accident was hit in rear right panel now when i put it in gear to move a get a pounding noise and it doesnt move damage to panel but not sure whtas going on under need ti wait to body shop opens mon to take pic and get update love my ranger and want it fixed other cag blew a red light and hit me on a legal green r turn maybe somebody knows the sound what it could be tks RANGERS
