you may need to have it converted to R13 ? If any work has been done to the heads or intake manifold ... I just learned that... It requires a recharge to the system... Freon
(R12) is really costly now days ...hope this helps.Nobby

Hi people, im rina and i own a 1997 ford ranger extended cab. The heat is beginning to surface and i have not owned this truck long, i bought it in winter weather so therefor i had no reason to run the ac and i hate to say i never checked it eather when i bought it, lol. Now the days are getting hotter and i would really love to use the ac in the truck but when i turn it on the air is not cold, it blows and all but is no cold air mean it needs freeon, is a hose busted, a leak? Please i have no earthly idea where to start with getting it up and blowing ice cold air. Can someone out there please give me a clue as to how i should begin to cool off in my lovely ford ranger?
