My 1994 Ranger has the check engine light on , It drives normal no problems, but for the past few days, I have noticed a smell of antifreeze coming from the middle vents inside the truck. I'm not sure what that is, and am thinking whatever that is is also the cause of the check engine light being on. Is there a "fix" for this or do I junk the truck. I am hoping somebody can help me with this and explain how to re set the light so it goes off. I do not have access to the equipment to check this out. Any help, ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.

The other morning, I went out to start my 1994 Ranger, it started fine, but after a few seconds the check engine light came on . I have been driving it with the light on and it is running just fine. I have noticed that it is losing some anti freeze to someplace and there is a smell of anti freeze coming through the center vents on the dash, but the engine itself is not overheating at all. Could this have something to do with a bad thermostat and if so, would that cause the check engine light to come on.? I do not have access to a scanner for this vehicle. What is everyone's thoughts and ideas.? Can anyone explain to me how to "re set " the check engine light so it possibly would go off and stay off?!! Thank You in advance for your tips , ideas and suggestions.

I have a 1994 Ford Ranger. On the coolant reservoir is a plastic cover that the overflow tube connects to. Is that cover supposed to have an o-ring or gasket around it? I am losing a small amount of coolant from that area. Also is the tube supposed to have a clamp or something on it where it connects to the cover. I am new to this page , if anyone has not figured it out yet.
Thank you in advance for any replies and answers.!!!
