I am new to the forum. I just purchased a 1994 Ranger for my son - nothing special but very functional. We are in the middle of cleaning it up and making it presentable. Have changed all fluids, cleaned interior, etc. When done, our investment of under $1K will be presentable and functional. We are waiting on new leaf springs as one is broken.
Now for the reason for this post....
This 2.3 / 5 speed Ranger has no A/C. No problem except the heat is on constantly. We have found numerous articles about the blend door and associated repairs. Almost all refer to the A/C side of the equation. Since we don't have A/C do we need to investigate the blend door issue and if yes, where is the air directed if not to the heater core? On a couple of older vehicles, I have found manual shut offs for the water to the core and thought this might be the case.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Yes, we have ordered a repair manual, but don't have it yet.
