not sure on the exact amount of wood, just went by the measurements of the bed...its up to you how much you want to use...as far as mounting it, its held to the inside of the bedrails by c-clamps at each corner...sorry for taking so long to get back to you

yep, ranger or explorer shorty will work. you'll have to drill mounting holes. explorer full length will work as well.

no, you cannot bolt your tracks to 98+ ranger seats. 98-03 tracks won't really come off the frames, and 04+ ones are even more different. 98+ reg cab seats should be pretty close to bolting in. you may need to make one hole on the back side a little bigger.

mustang or explorer seats will bolt directly to 97 and older ranger seat tracks (buckets or 60/40) without any issues.

it's a little harder with a reg cab. the mounting holes should be close. maybe minor trimming of the holes to make them bigger to line them up. the part i would be more concerned with is the back of the cab. the black/grey seats are from 04+. the black/blue ones were 03ish level II seats. in 98+, reg cabs grew 3" behind the doors. this may affect how the seats are. they may fit in, but it could push them forward as the older cab is shorter. i'm not sure, it's just speculation.

you sell your truck and buy one that comes with one haha.
Mine came with the truck. I have no idea who made it or where he got it. Ive had so many people ask me about it, but sadly, i have no idea.

Yeah you have to put the screws down close to the slots for the OHC clips. The wiring wasn't all that hard to do. It was pretty much the same for as what the OP said in the thread in my signature. Holler at me if you have any questions. I had a few questions when I was doing mine so maybe I can help you out.
