V8 Ranger project
This is the culmination of a five year project. This is a radical V8 Ranger. The engine is a Ford Racing 302 crate motor (approx 300hp). Some of the innards include, GT40 heads, stainless steel valves, roller cam, nodular iron crank, MSD ignition, Cobra Intake, Pro-M Mass Air Flow Meter, 24# per hour injectors, Ford Racing Main and Engine Harness. remote oil filter, headers, stainless steel exhaust. stainless Borla mufflers and much more. Almost everything on the truck is new! What follows is a partial list of new items: All lights (headlights, tail lights, park lights) all items are OEM, grille assembly, mirrors, all weather stripping, brake master, booster, brake lines, fuel pump and sender, gel battery, all engine wiring, sensors, external engine components (starter, P/S pump, alternator, etc). All engine brackets are powder coated, Mustang Cobra Computer, I have new door wipers, new windshield molding (still in packaging). The interior is all custom upholstered including front and back seats and door panels. The carpet is custom premium replacement carpet. The Stereo system is brand new consisting of Alpine Ipod ready Stereo, AMP, 4 new Infinity Kappa series speakers, custom tach mount, B&M Shifter, Grant steering wheel. There is a thermostatically controlled rear mounted transmission cooler with an electric fan. The rear end is a custom Currie built 9" Ford axle with a HI-9 differential sporting a Detroit Locker and 4.86:1 gears. 31 spline Currie Axles. The wheels are Weld Stone Crusher 17X8" with 37x12.50x17" BFG Mud Terrain Tires. The wheels and tires alone cost over $3500.00. The suspension is an all new FabTech 5.5" lift with double shocks on the front. The truck also has a 3" body lift. The front and rear fenders are built by Hannemann Fiberglass, The cowl hood is from US Body Source. I have done all of the preliminary body preparation and fitting. The driveshaft is custom built out of aluminum and highly polished. The transmission is a freshly built 4 speed AOD automatic. Custom 3rd brake light with LED bulb. I have receipts for everything I did. I have over $30,000.00 invested in just parts in this truck. The only thing left is a paint job. There is a video on You Tube that shows a "walk around" of the truck (pikespeak67). I used to race Ford Rangers up Pikes Peak in Colorado. I have extensive fabrication experience. The roll bar, fender mounts, and front bumpers are all custom built and powder coated. I sold the truck to my best friend in 2009. It’s currently getting a custom paint job.
