I need advice. My 1999 ford ranger on an 18 degree morningg I was on my way to work and my truck began to overheat then there was a loud sound. So i pulled off and the water hkse from the thermostat had busted so I went and got a new hose and thermostat and put it on. Every since that happened I have no heat and if I drive 4 miles normal driving it overheats. I have flushed the radiator and replaced the thermostat with one that has a higher ttemperature. Put new antifreeze in it thinking this could be the problem. I feel it is likely the thermostat froze and maybe some of the water. Please help me figure out what is going on because this is my means to get to and from work. Oh also when it overheates yesterday I noticed water was almost to the top of the over flow tank. It also makes a noise when it gets hot it is always on the left side of the radiator that I heard the noise.
any help please would be greatly appreciated thanks.
