I used to have 12k then I went down from there (10k,8k,6k). My current setup is a 55w 5000k HID kit. It produces a pure white color and it's very bright! If you still want a bit a blue in your headlights, then I would suggest 6000k in 35w. It will give you a crisp white with a small hue of blue.

My taillights are 2006 Ranger taillights. They don't have an amber section like the stockk 3rd gen taillights do.
