Well i have an answer to your loosing power going up a hill. I have a 4 speed with an overdrive and I "had" the same problem. All you need to do is downshift when you get into the right RPM's to downshift. The first 3 gears for a 5 speed are usually low gears so you can get up hills. If downshifting isn't your problem than I don't know what your problem is...
i have a 84 ford ranger 4x4 , it has the 2.3liter... it is also a 4 speed with overdrive i think... i just bought it and it runs, but i am wanting to know more about them so i can be proud of my toy and daily driver... what would make it lose power going up hill?? it has an aftermarket carb on and they left oil pressure release from the valve cover blocked so it has no release!!! and the the tube that is next to the battery is not their... then their is a tube right on the header that has nothing connected to it.. what am i looking for????
