well the chip was on there when i bought the truck so i cant help you with that one but people say the xCal chip is better. The filter is claimed to do absolutely nothing from the internet roaming Ranger experts but honestly i dont care. it did three things for me. 1. makes my engine look badass 2. makes my engine sound badass 3. makes me go faster (could be in my head but i'd say i noticed a difference and there not that expensive so i say why not). Tip: get the K&N with the black tube because the chrome one absorbs more heat from the engine than the black one does there fore making the "cold" air hotter... haha
Iím happy to be a member of FRF. Joined a couple of days ago but because of classes I havenít been able to explore this place as much as I would like. I just turned 21 and as a treat for myself I bought my first vehicle, which is a 2005 Ford Ranger Fx4 with a 4.0L v6 (only 17,000 miles!). I know very little about trucks and attempting a degree in mechanical engineering, I think its time to change this. So being on this site I hope to find friendly people who are not afraid to answer any dumb questions I may have because now that I finally got my new toy all I want to do is add to it! So thanks for having me and I hope I get to talk to everyone soon.
