Pics of hydro i beam set-up?
I'm thinking of going hydraulic on my 84 ranger as my final project in school. I'm going for fluid power (hydraulics and pneumatics) and can design just about anything with the hydraulic part, I'm curious about how anyone's done the I beam set-up with hydraulics. It can't be that hard I'm sure but if anyone has any pics that'd be great, just looking for references/ideas. I'm not looking to hop, just drag a little frame (if possible).
Thanks,
Chase

That's what I figured, doesn't seem like (almost) no one does hydraulics on rangers, I was just hoping someone might know a guy who knows a guy or something. Oh well, worth a shot.

Yeah do airbags it'll ride a lot better and it's pneumatic so still in your course of study right

It would fit, I'm just not a fan of pneumatics personally, as far as I understand I can get a decent ride with accumulators which are not a problem for me to get or hook up. I'm more looking for mounting, either way I'd need to go to 4(?) link in the rear right?

You would probably have to design a new front suspension. Any change to ride height on an I-beam seriously alters camber.

As far as I could tell, most bagged rangers use the stock suspension design (obviously with different beams etc)? I'm not going to make it hop, or go from a massive drop to a lift, just from slammed to driveble.

Re: Pics of hydro i beam set-up?
Just run the cylinders in the stock spring location, its easier to install a hydro cylinder on a ranger than bags, just run accumulators and no springs and it should ride decent. Going to need to install DJM drop beams and radius arm relocators first to get the geometry right to get it low.
