Default diy lowering kit

Has anyone done their own lowering kit? I have an 08 xl 2 wheel drive, I was going to cut a coil or two off the springs and make my own flip kit brackets. Anyone do this with any success and what would the drop be roughly? Thanks in advance.

you already have to go through every part of the suspension to get it to ride decent with quality parts...Dont hack it up youll regret it!

Save your money and get a real suspension kit. Did the DIY myself and it rode like crap. I love my DJM 4/5 drop. Worth the $$$.
