Default confirm or debunk this info please!

Ok my roommate n me were replacing a wheel bearing on his cavi today and ended up talking bout my truck n how it'd look good lowered, this caused a curiousity with me and figured FRF would know.He said the back was easy and free..just flip the shackles and it'd give me 3-5" of drop in back, and suggested cutting the coil springs in front to match(not an idea imma go with). Now is the part about the flipping the shackles true?? Cuz if so I'd do that ans order drop coils for the front,I'm aware there are threads prob about this but I wanted an answer with out sifting through useless info

Yes a simple flip would work but not free, you would need to buy shims and new u bolts. Maybe a C notch kit.

About how much that stuff run me cost wise? And how does it work?? Any changes in dependability/parts wear?? I can live with my truck at stock height if this causes undo wear

----------

Like what kinda drop would it realisticly give me?

About $140, just as reliable as stock

----------

You can get 2" shackles for about $80 thought

Yes flipping shackles is free it will only give you 2" though not 3-5" and it's not completely free it's about $20 in bolts, washers, and nuts from your local hardware store and with only 2" drop the stock shocks will be alright here is a link to show you how it's done

And front 2" belltech springs are about $150 I ran stock shocks with 3" springs in my 03 (different suspension type) for a while and they were bottoming out so I would personally recommend getting front lowering shocks

That's nice then lol as long as they are hanging down just unbolt them flip them over to where the spring is on top of the mount and bolt it back up

Flipping the rear hangers and shackles will give you about a 2" drop. Cut coils ride like crap, are hard to have realigned and sometimes are just not safe due to the spring rate change. I sell a few drop options for your truck 2/2, 3/4, 5/6 email me brian@illusivefabrications.com if you are interested
