Default Converting from I Beams to A Arms

AS the tittle states , I have a 96 B3000 with front I beams , I am wondering if the front suspension(coil springs and A arms) from a 99 ranger can be bolted in place instead .
I know it will be a lot of work.
i have a few questions , does the front suspension from the 99 unbolt from the frame or are parts of it welded or rivited . if it is I will have to rethink it .
Also if anyone has some good pictures of a 99 front suspension that you can see the attachment points would you send them to me via PM

I am doing the same to my 94 ranger but I'm planing on doing a lot of custom fab an welding. I would like to hear from anyone who's done it also.

Alot of welding. Have fun. Quickest best way is a frame swap. Your ibeam Frame isn't made to hold the SLA suspension you will have to do alot of Gussetting and also figure out what kind of steering you wanna do being we have power steerings racks on SLA and you have boxes.

Sadly easier to do a SAS then SLA swap

Geezus......way to much work. As mentioned above, the frames are way different. Steering is complete opposite. The frame is also 3" narrower than the 98+ trucks. By the time you factor supplies, time, material, alignments, etc..... It be worth it to sell the truck and bump up to a 98+

And for the amount of time and effort, SAS would be the ticket. But then whats tha point? a TTB is basically a split SA. I imagine you want the newer suspension for ride quality....?

Also, would you want the coil sprung front ends or torsion bars? Man, thats alot of work.

My guess is that he wants the Control arms to maintain proper suspension geometry at low ride heights. As said, it's possible. Just a pain in the ass. Probably would be about 10 times easier to buy a 98+ truck and do a front end swap. *shrug*
