Default C notch questions

Hey, I just installed a Cnotch on my frame. Everything came out good but i notice that my rearend is hitting the top of my frame. I am wondering do i need to cutt the bar off? I thought it was there for support for the frame. If i do cutt if off i am going to re-weld it to a different location.
Here is picture of what i am talking about

I am talking about the bar that has the bump stop and socket on it

Also here are some other pictures i took my the semi finish product. I also welded a bead across the top but did not get a picture of that.

By how much is it hitting? I would move the axle forward/backwards an inch or so if at all possible and notch the center of that crossmember...remember to reinforce it though.

How would i move the axle backwards or foward some? Also how would i notch the center crossmember?

It is not dragging on it. Just when i go over a bump it hits.

You could relocate the spring hangers backwards/forwards or get a 1 inch block that sits under your leaf pack. has pins in it that relocates the axle back or forward 1 or 1.5 inches.

You would notch the crossmember where the axle's hitting (or isnt the axle hitting the crossmember?) the same way you notched the frame, with a grinder/torch

I am confused on what part is the crossmember. I thought the crossmember is under the truck near the front?

So i will have to buy a notch or something for the crossmember? I was just going to cutt out the bar and relocate it.

That crossmember needs to stay where it's at for structural purposes. A CROSSMEMBER is anything that crosses the frame. You dont need to buy a notch, they dont sell one, fabricate it. I see your welds...they're good enough.

I just thought of this....scratch all I said earlier....why not just adjust/install bumpstops to hit before the axle hit the x-member? Im a genius

Thanks on the compliment. Yeah i was thinking about cutting the center of the crossmember then getting some metal rods and weld it on. So when i go over a bump the rear end wont hit the crossmember..

I also was thinking about putting a bump stop under the x member but i was thinking my rear end is still going to hit the x-member.

Do you have any ideas on something i could possible do?

Little of both if ya have to. Not the greatest pics to decide really...have any closeups when fully dropped?

Also, you best be painting everything you can while that bed's off. Do it right or GTFO!

So the idea of me cutting out the x-member in the center then re-welding some bars on it is a good idea? So my rear end can have more room?

So your saying its not a good idea to cutt out the x member and re-weld it alittle back or a little forward?

I don't have any pictures of it with the notches on there. Because when i install the notches it dropped my rear down a few more inches. I have pictures of my drop before i install the notches though.

I suggest NOT moving the x-member...just install bump stops dude...simple as that. Don't make it harder than it has to be.
