Re: lowering my 01!!
do you have a link for the kit on summit, i know on my 06 when i bought my kit, it came with the upper, and lower control arms, springs, flip kit, shocks, and the shortened sway bar links.... as for tires, i am running 225/60/16's, you are able to run the stock 225/70/15's but i know on my 06 it rubs when i take right turns
here it the kit on my 06
with stock size tires

I was thinking the same thing. Not about the lifted over lowered part though lol. Anywho, I hope he isn't 4wd cause I do not believe the kit he just ordered will work. If not, get that bad boy installed and show us some pics!

Re: lowering my 01!!
Lol, well, the idea of a AWD Ranger with a blown 4.0 doesn't sound too shabby. But not to hijack the thread but I am wanting to lower mine and thought about getting the DJM 2/3 kit but I've read in a few places that people have gotten by with just lowering springs from Eibach or DJM on the front and the shackle flip on the rear...kind of curious because I've been on the ropes for a few months about lowering the Ranger (havn't because I thought I was going to trade it/sell it for a 09 Challenger or 11 F150 with a ecoboost) and instead of getting the whole kit for like 500 bucks, couldn't I get away with running stock shocks and the lowering springs for the front and flip kit for the back since it's such a mild drop?

Re: lowering my 01!!
may just do that with some new shocks, wheels, and a paintjob i should be set. but sounds like a lot of work on a 4 cylinder

Yeah, that's what I've heard. There's no real clear answer other than going by what the manufacturer suggests, but lets be honest...in the car world they would make you buy a pot of gold and say it was necessary for that synthetic oil change you got just to make a buck.
I just heard it'll be a rather uncomfortable ride if you have stockers because they were designed for that ride height in the back and for certain travel, that and compressing them will shorten the lifespan of the shocks as they don't have enough travel for the correct valving and oil cooling, but even then people havn't clarified because i've read many places where there's people running the stock shocks and havn't had a problem. I guess I could just get the flip kit and springs this paycheck and if it doesn't work out I'll get the shocks next week or something lol
