Default I want to lower my 01 ranger

I have a 2001 reg cab xlt, that i would like to lower. I only want to lower it about 2'' as i just has new shocks put it and dont really feel like wasting the money on dropping in another set of new shocks. I would like to do this about as cheap as possible also. So really I am just asking how and what do i need to do. Would like to do it without sacrificing any performance also. Please be as detailed as possible im not big in working on vehicles and one of my buddies will be doing most the work.

djm 2/3 kit, by the way you will want to go lower after you go with the 2/3 so you might as well get a 4/5

In another forum FoMoCo mentioned this: if your wanting to do it on the cheap, find yourself a pair of DJM springs on ebay, then go thru summit racing for the camber kit, the kit should run ya about $25 or so, and then flip your rear hangers, that will get you about 2" drop in the rear.

http://www.jamesoaksenterprises.com/products/DJM.htm

was looking into getting the DJM 2/3 kit. Im not truck savy, so I assume i will still need to get the camber bolts and ive also read i might have to change my u-bolts? Also what about my shocks, I really dont want to have to get new ones right away as the shocks on my truck are only 1 month old. Will they be ok for awhile. Also will i need to get a tire shop to do my wheel alignment after all this is done too?
