Default 1998 Suspension Help - Lowering

Hey everyone.

Just before I begin, I do apologize for asking random questions and for being dumb, but here goes...

My 1998 XLT 2wd Extended-Cab Fleet Side has a few issues...

ONE:

The Rear Leaf-Springs have what looks like a kink in them. My Grandfather tried to tell me that this is because I have "Overload Springs". Now, I am not saying he is wrong, but, I don't buy it... Any advice?

TWO:

My Driver Side front Sway-Bar is not connected to the Lower-Bar, the Joint is broken. Again, any advice? How much is this all going to cost me? Is it in my interest to just buy the DJM 4/5 now, instead of later down the road, it seems like the kit replaces the broken parts anyway... Please correct me if I am wrong.

So basically I am just confused, I bought new rims today, and did not notice the front suspension issue until I had to put the jack under it...

I hate how many things have gone wrong with this truck in such a sort period of time...

Thanks.

So I took the truck to the local Ford Dealership today.

I am certainly less than impressed with the total...

$200 for front link bars, and atleast $700 for new leafsprings...

This seams a tad bit ridiculous for leafs...
