Default Serious lowering questions.

2010 XL, 2WD coil sprung front.
I'm looking to lower the Ranger without totally destroying my wallet, so I was looking at the DJM 2/3 kit. I have heard this is the best kit, without going in for too much money. Going too low isn't a problem, the lower the better. Money is the issue
I can only find this kit on stylintrucks.com for $235. Illusive fabrications seems to not sell the DJM 2/3 kit? Hmm.
Also, are my assumptions correct that I'll need new shocks? I've heard HardBody shocks are good, and air shocks will seem to help with load carrying.
What problems will I run into? I've noticed I'll need to grind the shakles off the frame and replace them with bolts. Anyone know the size or grade? I've never worked on a Ranger, nonetheless a small truck. I'm assuming I'll need to rent a spring compressor to remove the front factory springs?
Anyone happen to know 2WD center hub diameter, by the way?
Thanks!
-Alex

The hardware for the rear shackles will be 3/4 x 1 inch bolts and lock nuts. (make sure to use grade 8)
No spring compressor is needed as this isn't a strut setup.
