Post Torsion bars. What to do?

Okay. I'm seeing all these new members and people saying they either un crank or cranked their torsion bars and now it's got to me that I want to un crank mine and get that nice lower stance to it. Now how hard/easy is it? I mean, is this a simple weekend type project or a couple days off work type project. And what about the back end with the leaf springs? How do I go about doing that so the whole truck will look even and have that nice lower stance I'm looking for, for my 20's this summer? Any links I need to buy stuff or parts or anything, please respond and help me out. I really want to end this debate and suck it up and do it. Thanks.

You have an Edge. Your truck will never be low, until you swap to a 4x2 XL or XLT frame.

Don't do it. In my old tahoe I cranked the T-bars so I could fit 285's and it rode horrible. Bad decision IMO.

Did you get an alignment afterwards, and did you crank them all the way?

If you wanted a dropped ranger, you picked the wrong one.

Just lift it. You can crank your T bars and get about 2 inches off it. But it will kinda wear your Ball joints down a bit.

Guys he obviously didn't want to lift his truck if he's asking how to lower it. Jordan un cranking youe bars shouldn't take more than an hour tops. as for the rear pull the blocks and get shorter U bolts you should have a nice 2/2 drop won't be Super low like mine but it'll be lower.

I think you all think I want to drop it big time. All I want is a nice stance to it to make my 255/45/20 tires and rims look even better. I'm not talking about a 4/5drop or bags or anything. And besides, I didn't know anything about coil over or torsion bars when I bought the truck

Sweet thanks Casper. Where can I get some smaller u bolts and do I need to get them welded or not?

Junkyard you need some for an XLT and they just bolt on, no need for welding

If you get a couple friends, a jack/jack stands, a breaker bar(maybe some air tools if you have them), you could knock this out in a few hours. It takes like 5 minutes to un-crank the torsion bars and I'd say an hour or two to take out the rear blocks and put on the new U-bolts. Just make sure you have all the right stuff before you go taking apart the rear end. By that I mean, make sure you have the correct U-Bolts.

Well here in MD, close to me, I have no one that owns a Ranger nor knows anything about this. My dad is overseas doing his job and that is why I come to this site for some help. Hey Chris and Tyler, your pretty close to me

----------

And for tools, I have nothing. Well not nothing, I have to dig and find something that I need. No air tools . That's why I miss my dad not being here because me and him mostly do everything on the truck and his car as well. Oh and my mom doesn't know shit about this stuff lmao

Have any friends with tools? That's all you really need. We can talk you through the rest of it.
