Djm 4/5 suspension drop kit
I have a 1999 ranger that I have been looking to lower for a while. I am looking at the 4/5 drop kit from djm. When I install the flip kit in the rear, will I need to get longer u-bolts for everything to fit?
Thanks,
Eric

Re: Djm 4/5 suspension drop kit
NEVER reuse U-bolts!
From L&H:
When a U-Bolt is tightened to its recommended torque level, the U-Bolt threads stretch as they mate with the
Hi-Nuts. Although not always visible to the naked eye,
this damages the threads. Removing the Hi-Nuts from the U-Bolt will cause a cross - threading that will not allow the U-bolt to be adequately retorqued.

Re: Djm 4/5 suspension drop kit
usually with the kit installed and the new plate you arnt even near where they were tightened from factory on the ubolts, they end up being on different threads so you should be fine

Re: Djm 4/5 suspension drop kit
you can reuse ubolts. but its like anything.....metal stretches...so it "weakens" n bs like that.
i reuse mine cuz im not made of billions of dollars to change mine everytime i pull an axle and whatnot.
otherwise id be on like my 10th pair of ubolts on my ranger lol

Re: Djm 4/5 suspension drop kit
I think pretty much everybody reuses their stockers. I mean how many times can you rotate your wheels and torque them before a lugnut gives?

Re: Djm 4/5 suspension drop kit
U bolt are considered torque yield.. re-use is not recommended .. but doubt your truck produces enough torque to cause failure..
