Default Re: How to install a flip kit????

I just installed it yesterday and it took me 7 1/2 hours. After I got done it started shaking really badly and it's not the driveshaft angle because it's perfectly straight. And I did have to drill out the holes in the flip kit because it wouldn't go over the nut on the leaf pack. Anyways it made me really mad and now I have a black eye from it. and if I go over 55 I get my truck vibrating so badly it's crazy.

is everything tight? make sure both the holes in the flip kit are facing the same direction. If they are try turning the flip kit around. It really shouldn' take much longer than an hour to install a flip kit.

It already has the flip kit on it. You could use lowering blocks or flip the shackles to get lower

Flipping the axel on a ranger usually gives you 5

You know I did see that there are 3 inch flip kits when I was researching them. I see the tape measure and thought about it. Now it looks like 3" to me.

What's the most I can drop the rear of my 2001 Ranger, with a flip kit, without cutting any notches in the frame?

5" with smaller bump stops, rode mine that way for years and only bottomed out on really big bumps .

You have to account for the thickness of the leafs also not just the bracket.
You do not need to drill the hole in the bracket you just flip the bolt in the center of you leaf so that the pin is on the top not on the bottom.
Do you have a one piece drive shaft or two? two piece drive shaft needs the pinion shim to correct the angle apparently.
