Re: lower 2-3 inches using DJM kit
I lowered my 99 with the djm 2 front 3 rear drop kit. but I had a buddy at a garage install it for me for a small price and I watched him do everything. I had him do it since I didn't have all the tools needed. i went ahead and bought everything from http://www.stylintrucks.com. But the kit DOES NOT come with the lowering shocks so i bought 4 toxic shock drop shocks. ones made for this particular drop they also have them on stylintrucks.com. just look for the 2 inch drop front and 3 inch drop for the rear. (my toxic shocks actually say Explorer on them but they are the same thing as the ranger ones, so don't freak out if you think they shipped you the wrong ones, they still fit) it took us about 4 hours to complete the drop and get everything settled and that was just taking our time since I really didn't have anywhere to go or anything, but if you have any questions just ask.

For your 4x4 in your sig? then nope it won't work you have torsion bars not coil springs.

Re: lower 2-3 inches using DJM kit
My 2wd 07 sport had torsion bars, if you want to go ahead and bag the front it's not hard at all.. I ended up cutting out and removing the torsion bars and brackets and building brackets for the bags up front..
If you have coils, it's the similar process.. minus the torsion part of course.

Stay away from Toxic Shocks they are the cheapest drop shock out there but they have a harsh stiff ride and they do not last very long. They say explorer on them because they are made by explorer pro comp suspension. Doetsch Nitro Slammers are the way to go with drop shocks you get what you pay for. Next I would recommend DJM Calmax, then Belltech Nitro 2 shocks. And I would rather use a stock shock anyday over Toxic.

Yeah, I did make a mistake with the Toxic's. I bounce over the smallest bumps and they aren't very good quality with a pretty rough ride. And I really didn't know about the "explorer" on them meaning they are made by explorer pro comp. thanks for the info slammedxonair I would recommend something else also, definitely not Toxic's...

You don't necessarily have to, but aftermarket ones made for lowered trucks would be your best bet. The stock ones are made for the stock height, the aftermarket ones are made for lowered trucks depending on how much you lower your truck. Hope this helps. Oh... and don't get Toxic Shock Drop Shocks... that's what I have and I wish I paid more for better ones...
Edit... the DJM 2/3 kit is what I bought, and it doesn't come with the shocks btw. Just figured I would throw that in this post...

Re: lower 2-3 inches using DJM kit
I'm looking into doing this to my '10 Ranger.
The DJM kit, "aligns back to factory wheel alignment specs with NO clearance issues.", so I won't need to align my truck after? All suspension parts are all the same after '98, correct? Some shocks say up to 04, or 06, or some other year. Should I get the set off Summit with shocks for 459.99, or should I get a shockless set from stylintrucks as mentioned above for 234.99 and get other shocks? Thanks!

Re: lower 2-3 inches using DJM kit
I'm pretty sure what that means is it can be aligned back to factory specs, not that it doesn't need to be aligned after its lowered.
