Question lowering a 4x2

I would like to know if this forum has some persons who have experience with this. I talk about the 2009/2010 Ranger model.

Yesterday I was at the dealer to see if it's possible to lower a 4x4, but the gain couldn't be more then 2". Useless in my opinion.

So....how about the 4x2? Can it be 4"/5"?

Are there goos shocks for sale? Better leafsprings? Or perhaps an airride? Or should I go for the coilovers? 4 link?

What is affordable and drive well?

Regards, John

I know there is a bag kit to drop 4x4 Yotas but, I have seen nothing like that for Rangers. 2" is all you will be able to get at this moment. If you want a 4/5" I see you having to rip all the 4x4 components out of your truck! Which it might just be easier to go trade or purchase a 2wd.

thx for reply.

Indeed... the 4x4 should drop 3,5" to be on the level of the stock 4x2 wich should be lowered 4" till 5" in my opinion. However... here we have only hammers and saw, but a good spindle kit or component leafsprings are very hard to find.

Therefore I was thinking of a custommade 4 link or a prefab one.

I dream of a readymade set.

Is your Ranger a American ranger or a foreign ranger. I see you are from Bangkok Thailand.

Indeed, it's made in Thailand. It looks the same as the European version, except the steering wheel.

I am also very interested to know about the differences between the US version and mine.

US version doesn't have true 4 doors also doesn't come with the option of a turbo diesel.
