Default Lowering 1996 3/5

I hate to start a new thread since there are so many, but every situation is different and most threads are years old so I'm not confident I will get a reply.

I am looking to lower my 1996 3.0 2wd with the 3 inch drop coils in the front and the 5 inch flip kit in the back. I don't have to do upper/lower arms do I? Also, I have read I will be good to cut the coil a bit, how much do I need to trim to get another inch? I'd love to do dream beams but I will have to wait at the price they are tagged at! Anything helps, thanks!

you would further a head getting the drop beams instead of using lowering coils , the beams will give you the same amount of suspension travel and you wont be riding on the bump stops , I used the beams and a flip kit on my 96 and never had a problem . I did have to make a tunnel onj the rear of the cab to allow the driveshaft to clear .

Thanks for the reply. I would love to do beams but I won't be able to afford right now and I'm itching to drop it. Maybe down the road... and I didn't see any modification comments for the rear end so I'm glad you mentioned it, I will read into it more. Thanks again!
