2002 ranger drop
I'm super interested in dropping my ranger. I'm getting smaller wheels, but I'm looking for a 4/5 or similar. I'm aware of some lowering options, but I'm not aware of what kits are worth it or overpriced as I'm new to it. So, what would you do? I'm also located near many junkyards and such. Thanks.

Re: 2002 ranger drop
4/5 definately. Nice truck. If you do the "free lowering" by flipping the shackles and cutting coils, you're gonna want lower down the road

Yes, I'm not looking for the cheap way out by any means. I just want the input of experienced people and what they would buy or do. So I'm thinking of a flip kit in the rear, but as far as front suspension I'm lost. Thanks.

Re: 2002 ranger drop
Look at the djm 4/5 lowering kit. That has all you need including, lowering control arms, c notch for the rear (not sure on that one), lowering shackles, and a flip kit
----------
I think it comes with springs too
----------
And shocks lol... if you find the complete kit

Re: 2002 ranger drop
The 4/5 djm kit comes with upper and lower control arms with drop coils and shocks for the front. The rear consists of a flip kit and shocks.

Thanks for clarifying lol. I wasn't sure. I did some research before and knew some stuff that was in it. I was gonna get it, but $$$

Okay cool, I was looking at that kit and definitely took a few breaths after seeing the price. I guess that's the only way through then huh.

OK this kit is reasonable, but do I absolutely need the shocks that they recommend, or would I get away with stock shocks?

If you wanted to do that, you could find those items seperate for cheaper. 2 inch drop springs will run you about $103 and after that, you could just flip your shackles and see how you like the stance. If the rear is too high, you can find a set of belltech drop shackles for around $80.

Ok. But I'm going to have to buy a flip kit for the rear, right?

No, just flip the shackles (rear hangers for the leaf springs)

OK, so I lowered my rear end 3 in will a little bit of free imagination. (Flipping leaf springs and adding blocks) so, now how can I lower the front? I only need 2in in the front. I have a bad shock on the left side that is causing it to sag on the left. So I need to replace my shocks anyway. Do I just need lowering springs and lowering shocks or what? Maybe get used springs and cut them? Please send links of cheap products I will need! Thanks!

Re: 2002 ranger drop
You could cut stock springs but I'd bet it would ride like shit. Minimum I would say is getting some drop coils.

Re: 2002 ranger drop
^^^ it does ride like shit. Shocks aren't causing the lean btw. That's the ranger lean that will need to be corrected somehow
