Default 8.8 with 3" front drop beams

Hey guys,
I finally finished the lowering I beam swap and the 8.8 rear swap.

I know the rear drops around 5+ inches
and the front drops 3 or so, but it's not level at the moment

How long would it take for the front to "settle in"?
Am I better off cutting 1/2 coil, 1 coil to even it out?
Or should I invest in lowering coil springs?

I'm sure this has been posted previously but couldn't find anything.

side note: i'd rather drop the front then to raise the rear back up.

I believe you are going to need some 2 in drop springs on that front.

I assume you used an explorer rear axle right? If so did you use ranger or explorer leafs?

Yeah that's what i figured too, and yes it's an explorer rear with ranger leafs (which could be another reason why it's so low)

I heard it wasn't recommended to have lowering springs in conjunction with the i beams for safety purposes but I could be wrong.

I did have the drop beams and 2in shorter from springs, lowering blocks under flipped ranger axle.

It took some serious camber eccentrics for the alignment place to get it right. I bought the truck like that and drove it about 10k with no problems, except for dragging and/or catching the tranny xmember on numerous bumps. I put stock coilsprings back on and removed lowering blocks as it was unbearable at times hitting stuff.

If you have really good roads around you then level it out, but if your roads suck then I would raise that back.

I wish I knew for sure, but I think the expo rear springs are supposed to get it level, but research to make certain.

Yeah my roads around eastern pa aren't so great either, a good amount of pot holes and hills.

I'll look more into the ranger/explorer leaf swap then, maybe that'll bring it up a tad.

or I was just gonna use this as my project truck and get a different daily. Just got a new job that involves ALOT of driving.

Thanks for the info
