Default New guy with ?'s

Been into lowered trucks for awhile but with s10s. Got tired of my current s10. To many problems so I am getting rid of it and getting an 09 ranger. I used spindles, coils, leafs springs and blocks to lower it but is that the basic way to lower a ranger too? Basically I just want some useful information with lowering the truck, so any information will be appreciated.

Look into the DJM 4/5 kit. It replaces your factory control arm with new upper and lower control arms that net a 2" drop. It also comes with 2" drop springs to get the full 4". The rear uses a Flip kit that puts your axle on top of your leaf springs, like Stock S10's.

So on the ranger the axle is under the leafs? And does the ranger have spindles?

Yes, the stock axle is under the leaf springs. There are no Drop spindles for the ranger

The DJM arms are designed to allow you to go way lower than 4" and still get proper alignment, but to go lower than 4" on the front, you will have to do some trimming on the inner fenders and possibly notch for the tie rods, and to go lower than 5" out back, you'll want to notch the frame. 4/5 drives like stock though. Almost no rubbing/scraping.

The DJM 4/5 drop is the best way to go especially with some Doetsch Nitro Slammer shocks. Check out my vendor forum here for all the part links you would ever need. IDF Static Drop Component Links

Some people will do the DJM upper and lower control arms along with the Belltech 3" drop coils on the front for a 5" drop and that puts you at about the end of your alignment spectrum but the alignment is possible. If you ever might bag or juice the truck you will need the DJM arms to lay out on any decent sized wheel. If you have any product specific questions please feel free to email me brian@illusivefabrications.com
