Looking to lower my Truck
I've started thinking about lowering my 94 ford ranger splash.
What stuff do I need and where can I get good information on lowering my truck?

What about "Drop Kits"
What are some good brands?
Where can I get good information on lowering trucks.
About how much does it cost to get a truck lowered?
What about "Bagging" your truck?

Re: Looking to lower my Truck
In the rear you need to use a flip kit in order to get the axle above the leaf pack (4" drop on a 83-97) of flip your rear hangers and shackles for 2" rear drop. Never heat or cut your springs, it will ride like crap and may not be able to be realigned if you cut to much. Belltech 2" drop coils are the best way to go with a coil. The splash is already dropped 1" from ford via the coils so the belltech springs will only give a splash a 1" drop and that will be pretty close to the max of your alignment. Drop beams and a flip kit would probably be your best bet.

Re: Looking to lower my Truck
i dont know what u mean when i need a flip kit, i know the leaf springs have to be under the axel. i was just going to try and take them off and put them back on the way i wanted them. now i dont know if that alone will drop it, but i only want 3 in. the blocks i have right now are 3 in. but i could take them back if i had to. i could'nt do it today like i wanted to b/c the thing that the leaf springs are sitting on. its welded on there, on the top of the axel. im pretty sure i need one to go on the bottum side of the axel for me to put the block inbetween the spring and axel. does it have to be welded under there? but i was doing some reading on the cutting the front coils. i dont think it is going to be that bad. i think i only have to cut like 1 1/2 of it off. for a 3in. drop. alignment? im hoping for the best. but ya alot of people say that the ride wont change that much, and i should be good. i did get to paint my rims black today, i did a good job at it. when i get pics i will put them up. if you can help me out anymore that would be gr8. thanks for everything

chopping your springs is ghetto and a bad Idea...not the good bad either...If you do it, be sure to stick around to inform the next generation of ranger enthusiasts what you learned from your mistakes.

x2... i dont know much about that body ranger. but you need to take the blocks back. once you flip the axle with a DJM FLIP KIT, you'll be sitting 4 inches lower. you cant get 3 inches unless you maybe mono leafed it and flipped the hangers, which again, is the incorrect way to do it. i think your truck has and SLA front suspension, not the bs twin i beams like mine, so i'd go with 2in beltechs in the front. theyre not that expensive, like 160 shipped from summit. good luck bro
