Are they available for sale on there own? Those brackets use the hitch mounting holes wright? Would be a great option for sure, if I could get em.

Or if I absolutly can't live with the 1" gap at the rear bumper I may have to get my machine shop / welder guy Brian to fab some brackets for me.

Doing this I would have to also raise my hitch 1" as well, Brian could do that mod for me to (giving me a better departure angle, sweet). Would be mounting the spare tire in the back of my truck then.

Do ya think 255/85R16's would fit after my lift? There 33.06" Diameter and 10.03" wide.

Do you know or have any pics of anyone running this size tire?

Thanks

255/85R16's are definitely just over 33" check it out on any tire calculator or spec. check.
235/85R16's are 32" even

http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp

What is the complete size of the tires you have 265/??R??

Bigger in diameter than a 265/75/16 not smaller.

Cheers

Hey Jeff, I'm not allowed to post links from another ranger - forum where this mod originally originated and where ALL the info you need is. But going off of memory when I sold people bolt kits for it, I sold 150, 130, 120, and 110mm long bolts. I know for sure they're M12 bolts, but thread count i'm a little rusty on....I think it's 1.50. So M12-1.50x(long).

I ran it for quite some time before going big on mine. I went 32x11.50's on 15x8's. The 1" BL did exactly what I wanted it to do for me: little extra clearence over those tires.

It's an uncommon size, yeah. I've only ever seen it twice in person and never on any of the online forums.

Here is 255/85R16's on a cranked bar truck, otherwise it's stock... I seriously had to do a double take when I drove by it. It totally looked lifted to me. I was thinking 3" BL, non cranked bars, and 265's. Those tires make the truck look big!

Hey Shane Thanks for all the info. Much appreciated. I had read something like that in another forum as well. About how much did the bolt portion of the kit cost?

I've see the pics of your truck sporting the 1" BL's and 32" and it looked real fine. I've seen many newer pics of your truck now and let me just say oh my god smoken ride Shane.

I picked up my Belltech 6400 shackles and 1" PA BL BB01's today, YESss! $130 CND Taxes in.
My plan is to run this set up for a while to. At least Until the warranty is almost up. Then move up to adding the 4" Superlift and AAL maybe.

I'm planning to crank the torsion bars mildly 1", add the shackles for 1.5" and of course the 1"BL. I do like a little rake in the truck as I will be towing my boat, RV or ATV or a combo with ATV in truck bed. Just like to have the truck level under load (not looking into the sky / squat lol).

What did I do? lolol Move away from the phone lolol

Oh hey, I was wright there at the shop getting my parts today. And forgot to ask the guy about the price and availability here in CND of the PA rear bumper brackets. I'll call him tomorrow.

Thanks for the pics Shane. Yep I really like that look. Confirms I can run 255/85R16's with my set up no problem then. Only a crank on that truck ah, wow. It's looking good for me then.

255/85R16's is what I want to go with my set up. As I really like the Pizza cutter tires in the snow conditions we get here. 255/85R16's are the narrowest 33" tire size I could find at 10" wide. I've done the 235/85R16's (32" and only 9.25" wide) route 4 times now. Must go BIGGER! lolol But not to wide.

Hey Shane, should I use the bottom hole or second from the bottom hole on the Belltech 6400 shackles with a 1" crank? What is the differance in lift from one hole to the next?

Is bottom hole 1 1/2" lift

Thanks Jeff

Hi Jeff. I'm not gonna quote any of that, but I'll run some bullet points...

- Now, I'm in the states....but my blocks were $1.99 each($24 total) and total cost of bolts were about $30 or so. Metric bolts of that size and length are pricey! Of course, I went for grade 10.8(equivilent to std grade 8). Stock bolts are grade 8.8(std grade 5). So anyway, I had about $60 into my 1" BL including blocks, bolts, washers, and the tailgate gap filler(more on that later)

- Thanks for the compliments. It's come a long way in the past 6 years! Lots of parts and Lots of money! LOL

- [shackles] Personally, I'd just crank it and call it good. I like a very level empty ride height.....right now i'm at 1/2" rake. I rarely see alot of weight in the back. Rarely tow a trailer....BUT...for what you want and what you do with it, I'd go ahead and crank the bars up and install the leafs in the bottom hole. Using the bottom hole will get you about 1.5" of lift. That's what I got out of mine and I measured before and after. lol. 2nd to the bottom hole would be about 3/4" lift. You may like the 3/4"...maybe try it then go from there. It's just two bolts after all to change it to the bottom holes. lol.

- Honestly, don't worry about the rear bumper to tailgate gap. It's not that bad at all. I put a piece of polished diamond plate in mine and painted it gloss black. Fixed the minimal uglyness it had. You can fab up something similar to the PA brackets(also pictured below), but IMO it's more headache than it's worth....not to mention the money out if you do order up the PA ones and modify them with a die grinder. Here's some pics of my gap filler...

Then reattached my clearence lights for the "look at me" factor. I think it looks good. And it's not that noticeable standing away from the truck. Meaning it doesn't stick out. What do yall think??

- The only thing I think you should buy from PA are the nice thick washers for the bedbolts that they include in the kit. I don't know the price but in my opinion, it's well worth the extra green for those 'correct' and 'beefy' washers that don't bend and won't bend your bed floor. I had that issue with the washers I used with the 1"...bent floor around the bolts.

- Lastly, you have a PM.

Hey Mykhael

Ya they are narrow (10" isn't to bad though). My 32" 235/85R16 MTR's were only 9.25" wide (now that's real narrow). I to prefer the wide tire look, as you do. But I've just gotta be practical and live with the Pizza Cutter look, to get the best performance in the snow conditions (and there's plenty of it most years) here in CND. Sacrifice best looks for performance!

Here's a couple of pics to confirm to people, there are 1"BL's still available if interested in doing a 1"BL. No need to fab your own 1" BL's or to use hockey pucks. PA has them in stock. And there cheap $1.99 US each, and I paid here in CND from a local shop $2.79 CND each (pretty much the same cost as if I added exchange rate and shipping costs from the US).

Note the Manufacturer / part# BB01 and the newest build date I received
(11 July 2009).

Posted this because I have noted that some people looking on the net have had some difficulty finding 1"BL's. If you go to the PA web site there a little hidden I found. Go to PA home page then Shop Now (NOT listed under PA Products or Body Lifts on thier home page ???).

I puchase qauntity 16 in total. 12 for the body mounts and 4 for the truck bed cross rail supports (hope they work, want to save myself from fabing truck bed cross rail supports). I will be carrying heavy loads at times, so I do want to reinforce the truck bed cross rail supports. I know some say it's not necessary. Just want to be safe than sorry.

And one pic of my shackles (Beefy I must say) just cause I can lolol.

'08 and older guys can get away with only 12 total blocks.....6 for the cab and 6 for the bed. '09+ guys have 10 freakin' bed bolts where the earlier guys only have 6.

Hey Shane

Your kidding right? I hope. 09+ need 16 blocks just for the body mounts? Isn't 16 blocks just for the body mounts for a long box truck (not short box?).
I was under the impression it was 6 for cab and 6 for bed. I have a factory Ford bedliner in it right now (untill I do the lift and Line-X it) and can't see my bed bolts (10 bed bolts really?). So I need to get another 4 blocks for my truck bed cross rail supports?

Stop kidding me, Please say it ain't so!
