Default Body Lift Installation price?

Okay so I know I talked shit about body lifts but i've turned a new leaf and my muddin' days are over. (Long story but basically my friend totalled his 2008 GMC Sierra fully loaded a couple of weeks ago and i just cant risk that with mine... i will hit the occasional trail tho )

So with that being said i think i'm going to get a body lift because as long as i'm not doing anything crazy off road i don't see how it can hurt my truck and you dont even notice that its a body lift on the rangers. I MIGHT try and tackle the installation myself if the cost to get it installed is just ridiculous but I'd much rather not have to deal with it and just get it professionally installed.

So how much do yall think is a fair price for a professional place to charge me to install the 3" PA Body Lift?

P.S. - how many "hours" does it take to install a body lift. my local truck shop told me they charge $65 an hour for labor so...

Thanks for all the help everyone and don't give me to much crap for hatin on the body lifts and then turnin around and possibly gettin one lol

first off one trip out on a tail is all it takes to mess a truck up... ESPECIALLY if you're not used to it

second install it yourself... shops usually don't garuntee anything on parts that weren't purchased through them SO you just jacked your $120 BL to about $200 and it takes about 5-8 hours to install depending on how many people you have working on it and how experienced everyone is on doing the job (obviously could take a lot longer, as mine did)

third... people need to stop hating on body lifts and stop paying other people to install them... THEY ARE SUPER EASY!!

I would get a friend or two and do it yourself. It would be a full day at a shop I am sure.

I bet your looking at 8 hours of labor for a shop to do it. Shops around here are 60 bucks an hour.

Like Justin said do it with some friends. That is how mine was installed in 4 hours we had it done.

haha what i mean by trail is dirt road... we dont have any serious off roading places around here besides huge mud holes which is what my friend sunk his truck in. flooded the engine and killed all the electronics.

anyhow everyone tells me "get some friends and do it"... well i'm 16 and my friends are retarded as shit and i dont trust them to work on my truck... if i were going to do it myself it would be me and my dad. why does everyone say you need more than 1 person for a body lift? just because its easier or is there parts where you need 4 hands?

More than 2 people makes it easier lifting the bed up and the cab up to install the blocks

When we did mine 2 people lifted while 2 people placed the blocks for the bed. Each person placed them on one side. The cab is a PITA because it can move forward then you have to get it back in place

well you can do it with to but your gonna need the hands when you slide they spacers in. heres what you can do i did this for a friends truck unbolt the cab and bed use a jack to lift the cab and the other person to hold in place on the other side until you can slide a spacer in place, bol and then move to the other side and do the same thing make sure you carefull. just with four people you can hold the cab , bed and lift it easier

Oh okay. I also just remembered that i have a spray in bedliner so how do i get to those bolts in the bed?

Also i was just thinking... If i have a brush guard that i'm assuming is mounting to the frame will it not go up with the body lift??

Bed bolts need to clean off the bed liner to get them out

Dude you're in Alabama... there are a ton of trucks around you... invite people over to your house to lift your truck... provide food and they will show up... lol

I don't think you will be able to re-mount the brush guard w/o modding it

What brand is the brush guard?
I know when we did the lift on Ranger54's truck it mounted to the bumper mounts and it raised with the body

I'm with Marie. It's not hard to do, granted I didn't do mine, cuz I didn't know who I know now to help me.

Do it yourself.

you can modify a BG to fit with body lift if you know how to fabricate things. Again, that's not hard either. Same with with the tow hooks, you're going to lose those like Marie said, unless you know how to modify those to fit a body lifted truck.
