Default T-Bar Lift?

Does cranking the T-Bars lower the ass end? My truck is supposedly an FX4... but it sits not really low, but not as high as I'd like it to.

Also when I hit bumps I can hear my shocks they make a weird sound like not a popping or nothing just a sound like if you got an old bed, they don't really squeak, would you say they are worn out based on that? It seems to be the front... I mean they are super stiff. I'd be more then glad to upload pics of the truck as it sits.

I'd like to get some wider and bigger tires, I've got 16inch rims from a Ford Explorer, but the thing is, they came from the factory like that. Some how it has 16inch rims they sort of look like an Explorers rims, but they seem to be different. I've yet to see a ranger with rims like this. I was going to get the widest BFGoodrich A/T with the tallest I can go.

Give us some pictures and mileage on your truck. Cranking the T-bars raises the front end.

Cranking the t-bars will raise the front end, and should help to level it out if that's what you're looking for. Just be sure to have the alignment checked after you do it. It kicked out the camber on mine a bit when I cranked them.

How many miles on your truck? Might be the ball joints making the noise.

Here's a good thread for determining max tire size: http://www.fordrangerforum.com/wheel...tire-size.html

The truck has 87k miles on it. It don't make if I shake the truck that I can hear, and it isn't coming from the rear. My drive way has a bump to it, so when I pull in the drive way it will make that sound, it does it till the truck quits bouncing, if I ease in it, it don't do it as bad.

I was thinking of having the T-Bars cranked up, didn't know if it would raise the ass end or not, but I can tell you my ass end sits up way higher then the front, to the point it looks like a 2WD. I haven't got the balls to try it myself. I'll take some pictures of the truck and upload them today.

You can do it, it's really just cranking two bolts. Here's the how-to: http://www.fordrangerforum.com/how-t...sion-bars.html

Just jack up the front to take the weight off the suspension, and cranks the bolts the same number of turns.

At 87k, I bet it is the ball joints. Mine do the same thing when I go over a speed bump. Typically time to replace them around 75 - 80k on a ranger.
