I was looking into buying a cheep 1989 ranger from a guy on craigeslist too use as a parts truck. I went to take a look at the truck last night parked right next to it and my truck sits about 2in higher then the junker. Both my truck and the parts truck are 4x4 mine is a 1990, they both have the same size tires installed. The owner of the junker said it was never lowered or anything like that. So I'm wondering if my truck may have been lifted abit before I got it.

So I ask how high should my truck be? What size blocks should be on my truck ? How many leafs should there be?

Were there diferant hights made between 1989 and 1990 ?

I will get some pic's of how my truck sits and post them later..

I can store it behind my work and the junker run's and the 4x4 works fine it's just rusted to hell but for $200.00 I can't realy ask for much more.

dam not bad for $200 at all... that block in the back looks alot like the block in my rear which i think is either 2" or 2.5"... it looks stock to me but i dont know much about the older rangers so wait for some more knowledgeable people to post up

That block is stock.
The truck looks stock height to me.

Yep my truck is stock so is the junker. The junker was sitting so much lower because all the shocks were blown/rusted out. I'm not getting any body parts from the junker aside from the lighting plastics and windows, but the engine trans and axles are all good. The junker's frame is cracked in two place's so it's costing me $200.00 + the price of a tow but it seems worth it to me. It does drive But after looking under the truck I'm not up for driving it the 35 miles to my work. Also the junker has a very nice like new headack rack that I found on the net selling for more then $200.00, Just wondering if I'm going to be able to get it on my truck without having to move my tool box.

Will post a pic of the junker tomarrow sometime after I get it.
