97 Ranger 2wd lift questions..

I own a 97 XLT longbed 2wd.. And Im looking for a good kit for an entry level off roader.. I plan on installing a lift kit w/ 15" wheels and some A/T tires, and would like some information from people who have already had experience with it.. So any information on what's a good lift height and tire size to run on the street with a weekend treck thru the woods would be great... Im a newbie, so please be very clear with your answers... Thanx..
