Default 2009 ranger lift?

hi im new, i think i got this thread in the right spot? if not im sorry
But i got a 2009 fx4 ranger, but i cannot find any lifts for it..

So my question is do they make any body lifts or suspenion lifts for the 2009 ranger? if soo could you please tell me.?. thanks

As B/Ls they are pretty much the same for the newer ranger from 93-09.

Performance Accessories makes a 3" Body Lift

Superlift makes a 4" Superlift (listed to only work on Rangers up to 2005ish but it will work on your truck)

Dixon Bros Racing makes some crazy expensive lift

You could SAS (solid axle swap) the front end to get rid of the IFS (independent front suspension)

Body Lift is $200-300

Superlift is $1500-1800

Dixon Bros is $5000 or some crazyness (someone correct me if i'm wrong)

SAS i have no clue on prices but i'm sure its in the thousands

check www.offroadwarehouse.com for the body lift and superlift

also search for threads about those lifts and you will find lots of information about them

Thanks alot... but will the superlift fit perfectly? or is there a few things that will need to be done for it to install correctly?, and thanks agian ive been looking everywhere and could never find a lift, i was starting to get pissed lol

Body lift is like 160 the summit kit is the same as PA

Dixon brothers is a long travel kit not lift kit it's mention to increase front travel and track width

Superlifts kit is excelent and will work good of you have $1800-$2500 laying aroud don't forget to get the upgraded front driveshaft stock will not hold


Body lift is cheaper and works excelent also it's up to your wallet really

well i have yet to install this lift on my truck but i will be in the next couple of months.

the major concern is the front driveshaft which will last anywhere from 10-20,000 miles after you lift the truck. Superlift offers a more heavy duty driveshaft that works with the lift, it costs about $400.

As for everything else, people say that it just bolts on like it should. The rear end is lifted by stacking blocks which causes axle wrap.. its not a HUGE deal but its not very good. There are a few alternative options for lifting the rear end which are much better.

When you hit the gas, two things happen:
1) The rear wheels start to turn one way
2) The rear axle housing tries to turn the other way.

Equal and opposite reaction, and all that
Axle wrap is the axle trying to rotate in the opposite direction of the wheels under torque. When you move forwards, the pinion on the rear axle housing will tilt upwards a bit as the housing twists under the springs. The softer your springs, the more this happens, and in really bad cases the pinion can move enough to snap a driveshaft yoke, bend the springs, etc.

Lift blocks make it worse because they increase the leverage of the housing on the springs.

First of all, there is an alternative that can be done about the price of the superlift shaft. You can piece together a shaft from a 96 and older explorer with the double cardon style upper part of the shaft and buy the adapter. I think Shane (fx4wannabe01) built his shaft from a thread for about $250-300 and it performs the exact same as the superlift. I have the superlift shaft on, and I paid $400 which is a deal. From what I've heard, they're upwards of $450-500 new.

Second, the alternative for lifting the rear is what Shane did. Run the Belltech 6400 chevy drop shackle and an AAL with the stock block. Produces the same amount of lift the Superlift gives you, if not a lil more.

Axle wrap is a huge deal. It wears hard on your u-joints and puts stress on other parts of the suspension like leaf springs. If you want a pic, I can show you what axle wrap did to my truck as I "tried" to do a burnout before I built the traction bar.

I can also show you pics of my 2-point traction bar that I fab'd up and put in. The difference is night and day and I have piece of mind knowing I'm not wearing on any of my u-joints.

lift the rear like Tre said above with the 6400 belltech shackle and the AAL and the stock block so that you no longer have to stack the blocks.

Another option is to get the 6" skyjacker leaf springs to lift the rear and i think you can get the 6400 shackles and the 2-2.5" deaver leaf springs.

i also think you can use 63" chevy springs off a half ton chevy truck..

skyjackers leaves are about $400

the deaver springs can be found on www.offroadwarehouse.com
