2wd Lift Kit
I have a 2007 ford ranger sport 2wd, I'm looking for a lift kit for it, but I cant find any, I have torsion bars which makes it difficult. If anyone knows where to get a lift kit, I'd appreciate it.

Hey Tom! So this post lines up close with my same situation. I'm trying to get all the knowledge I can about lifts since I'm new to the whole thing.
From what i've gleaned, a body lift is mainly superficial and wouldn't stand up to daily punishment. Right now I live in Hesperia where there are a bunch of rough dirt roads I use that save me a lot time on my commute to work or in case of fires/traffic
What should I be focusing my research on that would improve my handling on all these backroads? I need something that's going to perform (in addition to looking good!) and stand up to the daily use.
I'm trying to learn all I can but there's so much information and different lifts out there that I don't know what I need to be looking at for what I want to do.. My truck will finally be paid off at the beginning of the year and that's when I want to start doing the modifications to it.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

But being 2wd I vote for spindles for the easier install and the frame sitting higher.
This will fit your truck --> http://www.ebay.com/itm/1999-10-Ford...9ca672&vxp=mtr

Re: 2wd Lift Kit
thank you Cooper and Steve, what's the difference be between a body lift and spindles/shackles, and what would that mean for performance?

Re: 2wd Lift Kit
A body lift does exactly what it says, it lifts the body off the frame. Average cost for the lift is around $200. I have never installed one but it seems very involved and time consuming. This is popular among the 4wd folks as the next cheapest option is around $2k. Professional body lift install can be pricey (so I have heard).
Check out this link for TONS of body lift info --> Body Lift 3” – Tech Info Extravaganza
Lift spindles are basically bigger steering knuckles that lower the wheel hub. The shackles replace the factory ones at the rear of the leaf pack as they are 2" longer. Prices start around $290 depending on what brand you go with. They can also be purchased individually but the wheelNparts seem to be the best bang for the buck. Myself among a few others have installed these with no issues. There is a little grinding on the lower A arm though. Some have had to lightly notch the arm to return their turning radius to stock (I did not) and some have had to trim the steering stop or cut it off completely. My steering stop is pretty much gone as I was loosing brake pressure at full lock (it hits the caliper). I installed mine myself and have no idea what a shop would charge.
Check out the spindle how to here --> http://www.fordrangerforum.com/how-s...e-install.html
In the end it comes down to your preference and abilities.

Spindles in front, and a block, add a leaf, or shackle in rear

Re: 2wd Lift Kit
No problem. I did my ball joints and tie rod ends at the same time which turned into a nightmare, but the spindles by themselves is not bad at all. Personally I prefer them over a body lift for us 2wd 01+ guys. 98-00 would need to swap rotors, calipers and possible something else.

Re: 2wd Lift Kit
will the lift / bigger tires kill the HP / gas mileage at all? if so, can i gain any of it back with a Flowmaster 40 like i see a lot of users here say they have on their rangers?

Depends on what rear end you have. In your driver's door there should be a sticker that shows your axle code. Around here somewhere is a chart that shows what that code indicates. Being as you are a sport (which replaced the Edge) you should either have 3:73's or 4:10's possibly with limited slip. Check your sticker and post up what it says under "axle". Tire size is also a factor. How big were you planning on going?
EDIT: Found the chart
Either way, you will probably see some loss since the larger the tire, the heavier they are. Exhaust mods are mostly for sound and there is not much in the way of performance for the 3.0.
