Default Cheapest way to lift 2000 4x4 xlt ranger?

I'm looking for the cheapest way to lift my ranger. I was looking at coil spring spacers which are cheap. aprx $20 a pop. But as I continued reading the forum people were saying you should also buy new springs and that the spacers wear out after about a year. This isn't something I want to have to change once a year. What are your thoughts on the cheapest way to get a lift? looking for 2-3in

Are you sure you have coils on your truck? My 2000 XLT 4x4 has torsion bars.
