Default stx xlt and lifting it up SOO LOST

so to start off. Im lost on the whole package debate. theres a stx sticker on my tailgate I have no clue what it means. My truck is a 97 with the 4.0 and 5 speed manual ext. cab power seats 5 cd changer fog lights 4x4 power everything.

the main question is Since I am currently rolling on 31" a/t tires as the truck sits from the lot and has room for 32" I know that it is obviously lifted. I have the money for a lift kit so i can go higher but i noticed that i already have blocks between my rear axle and leaf springs so im wondering if the lift kit i buy is going to end up just replacing what i already have and leave me sitting the same height but $400 poorer.

does anyone have any experience with lifting thier already high sitting stock ranger? i am at your mercy

I believe, but am not entirely sure, that the mid 90s STX packages were the fully loaded Ranger. Mine has the power seat and CD changer too. I also believe they were slightly taller and came with 265/75/ 15 tires instead of 245/75/15 (?).

As for the lift kit, I believe that most come with rear lift blocks. I would not recommend stacking the factory blocks and after market ones. I would either get add-a-leaf or shackles instead. The lift kit will still be worth the money because you have all the front end parts to lift the truck with in the kit.

4x4 rangers are automatically higher than the 2wd rangers, 31's fit stock, no lift. skyjacker made all kinds of kits for ttb/tib rangers. 4 inch kits, 6 inch kits, 8 inch kits.

My 96 XL 4x4 3.0 had blocks in the rear,my 08 XLT 4x4 does not have blocks.I wondered if someone had added them,I know if you get Superlift and other kits will come with new leafs.Research it.I have 4" superlift on my 96 explorer it came with new leafs.

everything on my suspension is how it came from the factory because my grandpa would always order his vehicles with all the options and then leave them alone.

im thinking ill end up doing just 2 inches all around with adda leaf in the rear and then coil spacers in front
