Exactly - That's the BEST time to do it.
I had a front Torsen LSD installed to go along with my No-Slip rear locker when I had my 4.88's installed.
Just save up a little longer before you have those gears done.

Hey how much did it cost for parts only. I may go 35's when my 33's wear out so I'd regear and stuff. I will be doing it all myself tho. Helps to have friends that know what there doing. Lol.

I only remember rough ballpark type numbers because I had everything installed since gears can get a little 'touchy' if not setup properly - even more so with these deep 4.88's:
Front Yukon Gears: $230ish
Rear Yukon Gears: $250ish
Misc Install Kits: $200ish
Front Torsen LSD: $500ish
Rear No-Slip Locker: $ 500ish
You don't even want to know what my tires & wheels set me back...lol

Dang, that's about what I was thinking tho. Can you put a front and/or rear locker in without having to redo the gears?

It depends on the locker/LSD type (full-carrier vs. lunchbox).
A lunchbox setup (like my rear No-Slip locker) works without disrupting your existing gears and is a pretty simple install. It only replaces the spider gears & is done without pulling the carrier or resetting up the gears.
A full-carrier type (like my front Torsen LSD) physically replaces the carrier for the ring gear, so everything basically has to be removed and then reinstalled the same way as brand new gears would be done anyway.
So basically, if your LSD or locker is a full-carrier style - I would upgrade your gears at the same time since it all has to be reinstalled anyway. But if you stick to a lunchbox style locker in the rear - it's pretty simple and can be done in a few hours with basic tools, and doesn't require setting up the ring & pinion again.

Ok so iv been looking to put a rear locker in my truck here in a few months. So what do you recommend? I'm assuming I have to remove the LS in the rear before the locker? I just don't want to redo my gears just yet. Sorry I really am limited on knowledge about this subject. Thanks

Re: Superlift???
Assuming you have verified you actually have a factory LS - You will have to find a lunchbox style locker made for the LS carrier (since you didn't want to replace and/or setup the gears again) - which will limit the choices even further. The key thing to remember here is that the LS carrier and an open carrier are different., so a lunchbox locker made for an open carrier won't work in your LS version - You need one that specifically mentions a LS carrier.
I had an open carrier, so I had a slightly greater selection of lunchbox style lockers, but I believe Richmond Gear makes a No-Slip for a LS Carrier as well as the version I have (which is for the open carrier).
Like I mentioned above, I believe any other type of locker would require the reinstallation of the gear set & you might as well upgrade everything at that point - Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it does cost more.
EDIT: It looks like Richmond Gear does indeed make a No-Slip lunchbox style locker for the LS carrier as well as the open style:
For the 28-Spline LS carrier: Part #92-0688-2827
For the 28-Spline open carrier: Part #92-0688-2807

Ah thank you for clearing that up for me. Now it's decision time. Get a rear locker, or front bumper and winch? Decisions decisions.

Re: Superlift???
Don't mind the surface rust. On the to-do list is a little paint work...
I also made up some drop brackets for my sway bar to try and fix that harsh pitch at the swaybar end links. And while I was at it, I replaced the swaybar bushings.

Mine still kinda rides rough I feel. I can't really remember how it drove when it was stock tho. I know it don't ride that great but didn't know if it could have something g to do with the bump stops, shocks, or the swaybars. Just wondering. Did ur sway bar brackets help the ride?

Re: Superlift???
I feel as though it did a little, but a did it more to save the swaybar end links. With the pitch they were at, I figured it was a matter of time before they snapped.

How did you make the drop brackets for the swaybar?

Hey what do you think about getting a custom 4x4 front winch bumper and a winch?

Re: Superlift???
I used some 1" square tubing, and welded on a plate top and side. then bought some longer grade 8 bolts. In the pic I posted, if you look close, you can see the square tubing and plate. It could really use a larger drop, but is better than it was, and I just used some scraps I had laying around the garage.

I am contemplating a Custom 4x4 bumper and winch. I don't like how far the bumper hangs off of the front of the truck, but I really like what the guy in the link below did. You kind of lose the illusion of it hanging off so far, and you can't see the funny gap that the bumper leaves with your grill. After I regear, this is going to be my next project!

I don't like copying other people, but I really like what he has done here, as well as the hood he made!

Ya iv benign thinking about doing this as well but I'm also considering selling my brush guard and just get the bumper and winch. Idk what I want to do yet. What I don't like is how much of the underneath of the truck is seen
