I guess it all depends on what you want to spend. Spacers would be cheaper than coils. I look at it this way from past experience, cheaper is deff. not the way to go for your suspension. But I guess that all depends what kind of wheeling you do or are you just doing it for looks and a bigger tire size.

new springs are probably the better way to go but it all depends on how you want your truck to look, i have both new coils and spacers and it was a pain in the ass to get aligned but sometimes you get lucky with alignments

so do what YOU want to do with your truck, you are the one who has to drive it so you should want it to be the safest and always reliable

i want to have room for bigger tires as well as go off road a little bit. i was thinking of the coil spring in the front and leaf spring kit in the back. what do you guys think about the back?? i haul my wheeler and sled sometimes, and need that extra strength also.

My plan is either Skyjacker or Rough Country coils. I am also tempted to put a couple big welded washers under the spring seat for another 1/4-1/2" of lift.

I have heard people complain about polyurethane spacers cracking and splitting in the long run. They do have those aluminum ones on eBay. Anybody tried those?

I just did 2 inch spacers and rear shackles today .. and i definitely like it. I only did the 1inch setting and not the 2 inch on the shackles and it doesn't look right, but that should be easy fix..

The point of my post was to mention getting lift upper A arms because I didn't and now my upper ball joint is sitting really close to the frame and hits if I go over bumps to hard.. like the speed bumps in my apartment complex ..

There are a bunch of pages on the washer lift. This guy gives a pretty decent video overview of what is involved.

I have no problem giving this a shot, but I can't find the washers! I've been to Harbor Freight, Pep Boys, AutoZone, Advanced, Home Depot, and Lowes. When I look up the size online, I only find Grainger that carries them. Unfortunately, they only seem to come in bulk. Does anyone have any ideas?

I found them at IPACO here in Logan, UT. It is a heavy-duty agricultural supply hardware shop. They have everything you can think of as far as hardware goes. They sale hardware $2.75/LB. These 1-3/8 washers are HEAVY so it cost me about $20.

I have enough stud length for 6 washers. My fear is that any alignment shop is going to look at my welded washers and say it is not safe. My guess is we will need fully-adjustable camber bushings to make these work. I really see no difference between these washers and a poly spacer lift....

If you were serious about getting your hands on washers, I could pick some up from IPACO and throw them in a flat-rate box for you. You would just need to PayPal me the cost of the shipping + washers as a "gift." I would just request that you post pics of your install! The USPS $5.35 box has inner dimensions of 8-5/8" x 5-3/8" x 1-5/8, So i could get you (2) ~1.6" stacks.

I have only seen the washer idea used on 1993-1997 4x4s. I dont know if it will work on yours..... What year is your truck?

that washer lift looks even sketchier than coil spacers. i would go with lift coils, coil spacers can fatigue over time and break. lift spindles are only for 1998 and newer trucks, so robert's suggestion won't work.

Your a ******* if you use washers for a lift IMO.

I just watched this video. I think he went a little too high. I dont like the stud extender idea. His setup does look sketch. A full 2" of washers would give you 3" of lift. That is too much lift for washers IMO. The "ratio" is 1.5.
