You didn't do your spindle lift yourself did ya? Disconnect the shock, put a jack under the LCA and hold some pressure on it. Disconnect the TRE from the spindle. Disconnect upper BJ from spindle. Then slowly lower the LCA down. Would be wise to move your body away from the coil, but I've pulled coils on 3 of these 98+'s and there's no risk of shooting coilspring if you're smart about it. Quite literally, lower the LCA slowly, keep a safe distance for good measure, and the spring literally wiggles right out of there. Removal of the spindle helps, but if it's there it acts as a block in case that spring does decide to shoot out.
