Default have a few questions on lifts

This is probably a common asked question, but i couldnt find the answer i was lookin for. Eventually i want to lift my truck iv read up on the body lifts and ive read up on the suspention lifts. so my question is if you have have a 3in BL and a 4in suspention lifts can a add a leaf give u more ground clearense and would drop shackls give u more ground clearence on top of the 7inches u already have. I guesse what im askin is what more can u do to get more ground clearence after u already have a BL and a SUSPENTION lift already ready installed. I no in a solid axal swap the skys the limit thats not what im lookin for.

Body lift and superlift is as high as you are going to go without SAS. the ad a leaf and shackles will only lift the rear.

damn you and your technicalities! haha

But it is true, bigger tires for ground clearance, for bigger tires need a lift...

yes you could use the body lift, superlift block, aal and shackle and have about 10" in the back but there is no way to lift the front anymore. So it doesn't matter and your truck would look goofy sitting like that.

So the best thing to do it to lose the block and just use the aal and shackle.

Ya and he's also gotta remember, Hes doin all those lifts and gettin 7" or so, Tires add a ton of lift also. w/ 7in of lift u can fit some pretty decient size tires under there. When i went from stock to 33" tires my truck lifted a total of 2", w/o any bodylifting. and if you get 35's, that'll add another inch compaired to the 33's and so on.... So if you do 7" worth of lifting, and throw on 35" tires your lookin at 10" of lift over stock. Also you gotta consider regearing then for the bigger tires.. something over 4.10

say u have 35s would it be better to have 4.88 gears or 5.13 i saw the chart i just dont under stand the hole regearing thing. i read in the four wheeler mag that i got a walmart some people perfer to power up than mess with gears, but how much power can u really get out of a 4.0 really.

Hahah sounds like every one is messin w/ there gears on here.. Im assuming its easier, and im sure cheaper. I personally havn't regeared (im runnin 33's w/ 4.10gears). But im jus sayin. I heard 4.88 rocks w/ 35's. Thats what i would shoot for if i ever went that route down the road. Besides, Powering up= more gas....

deepest you can go is 4.88 on the front, so that pretty much is your gearing limit on the truck.

And for 35's, 4.88 is where it's at!

On making more power.....a supercharger is the way to go and that'll run at least $2500 and even then the truck wouldn't be geared right and wear out your trans(if auto). Gears purchased and installed ranges from $800-1200. Gears are the way to go.

Performance Accessories for the Bodylift.
Superlift for the suspension kit.
Belltech for 2" chevy drop shackles.
ProComp for the AAL.

Superlift wants you to put their 3" blocks ontop of your stock 2.5" block. That's defiantely not hte smartest idea for both safety and axle wrap. So I chose to do an Add-a-leaf and lift shackle. You can get 6" skyjacker rear leaves and they'll eliminate the stock block too, but they're aren't exactly cheap. Superlift comes with shocks, but they certainly can be upgraded upon....I chose Bilstein 5100's for the rear and stock superlift shocks on the front. I eventually plan on running Fox coil-overs on the front with 750lb coils to eliminate the torsion bars and the sorta soft superlift shocks. Off Road Warehouse.com sells a conversion kit to convert your torsion bar truck to a coil-over. It's by far one of the best handling mods you can do.

Ay shane once you do coil overs does that add any lift? cuz then all you'd have to do is worry about lifting the back, and there you have lots of diff options.

if u replace ur toriton bars with coil overs will the coil overs give u more lift than what the tortion bar crank will give u? also with tortion bars cranked all the way it stiffens up the suspention right? so will coil overs give u more flex or just a smother ride? and what do u mean by "I eventually plan on running Fox coil-overs on the front with 750lb coils " what dose the 750lb mean?

it is a smoother ride, the ride height will be similar and the flex will be similar. 750 lbs is the weight rating of the coil. If you get something like a 600 lb coil it will be bouncy and sag over time but if you get a 800 lb (on most rangers) it will be too stiff
